Lila Day Bogie, 99, of North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Thursday August 7,
2025, surrounded by family. Born November 15, 1925, in Osgood, Indiana Lila
was the daughter of the late Robert E and Virginia (Beer) Day. Lila graduated
from Osgood Highschool in 1944 and shortly after married and gave birth to her
only child Jane Bogie. Once Jane had graduated from Indiana State University,
Lila began working as a medical transcriptionist in Columbus, Indiana. She
followed Jane and her husband Cliff to Atlanta, Georgia and worked for Saint
Joseph’s hospital in medical transcriptions.
In 1993, Lila settled in North Myrtle Beach, SC to be closer to her family and her
only granddaughter Cameron. She retired from Atlantic Urology medical
transcriptions at 93 years old. Lila was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian
Church. She enjoyed reading, working crosswords, playing cards, traveling, and
spending time with her family and friends. Lila was a small spit fire with quick
wit. She was part of the greatest generation that ever lived and truly one of a kind.
She is survived by her only daughter Jane Cochran of North Myrtle Beach, SC,
granddaughter Cameron Cochran Hazle (Andrew) of North Myrtle Beach, SC,
brother Carl (Georgia) Day of Sun Lakes, AZ, nephew Robert L Day (Alison
Labonte) of Berkeley, CA. She is predeceased by her parents, older brother Robert
“Bobby Keith” Day, and son in law Clifford Earl Cochran Jr.
The family will be holding a drop in to celebrate Lila at the house of Andrew and
Cameron Hazle on Thursday August 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
