Lieutenant Robert Dwight Bell

Lieutenant Robert Dwight Bell, 48, passed away peacefully at his Myrtle Beach residence, Friday, December 2, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife Jen by his side.  

Robert was born in Huntington, WV on June 16, 1974. He was a 1992 graduate of Huntington East High School. Robert held various law enforcement positions and in 2008 he started working at the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He worked at USP Big Sandy in KY, FCI Williamsburg in SC and FCI Bennettsville in SC. Robert loved going on cruises with his wife and spending time on the balcony watching and listening to the ocean. He also loved his cats very much. Robert was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Coastal Carolina Lodge #12 where he served as the Treasurer and was Member of the Year in 2017 and 2018. He was very active in Lodge fundraising events and was also a member of the Grand Strand Masonic Lodge # 392 in North Myrtle Beach.   

Surviving is his wife, Jen, his younger sister, Stacey, and his aunt and uncle Mark and Kristie Swann.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ramona Bell and a great aunt and uncle Fred and Alice Blake.

Memorial service with Masonic Rites will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.   

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Animal Shelter, Grand Strand Humane Society or FOP Coastal Carolina Lodge #12, indicate if the donation is for Supplies for Success or Cops and Kids Programs, PO Box 8455, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578.
