Kenneth Roger Tallmadge,83, of The Forest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
Born to Donald H. Tallmadge and Mildred Wuest of Brooklyn, New York. After moving south to Florida, his family decided to settle in Fort Lauderdale.
After graduating from Fort Lauderdale High School, Kenny joined the United States Air Force for his love of country and service. While stationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, he met the love of his life, Peggie Jo Hardee. After returning from being stationed in Korea, he and Peggie married on January 23, 1960 in Conway South Carolina.
Kenny made a career from being an independent insurance agent for over 40 years. He and Peggie also enjoyed building and selling businesses throughout the Grand Strand including motels, restaurants, several retail shops, and residential real estate.
He was a long-time member of Ocean View Baptist Church and served as an usher for many years. Kenny also was a member and served as president of Travelers Protective Association of the Myrtle Beach Post. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and new puppy.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggie, daughters, Dawn Kingston (Scott), Debbie Mendenhall (Tommy); son, Ken Tallmadge Jr. (Charlotte); sister, Gloria Townsend (William, deceased); brother, Doug Tallmadge,(Sharon, deceased); sister-in-law, Jeanne Tallmadge; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Porter, brother-in-law, Lewis Porter; many blessings of grandchildren, Robert Armour (Savanna); Chris Armour (Lindsea); Adam Tallmadge, Kelsey Tallmadge, and Zack Tallmadge; and many blessings of great-grandchildren; Riley Armour, Kennedy Armour, Abigail Armour, Reagan Fifield (Kolby), and Gracie Harris; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Donald H. and Mildred W. Tallmadge; a brother, Ronald Tallmadge; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Doris Darrow,
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20,2021 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home at 910 67th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. The Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in North Myrtle Beach at Hwy.17 S. (next to Barefoot Landing).
