Kay (Caine) Tessmer

Kay Tessmer, 62, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away September 12, 2021, in Myrtle Beach.  Born in Riverside, CA, she was a daughter of Seb and Roberta Jean (DeVos) Caine.

Kay came to Myrtle Beach in October of 2017.  She was a former member of the United States Air Force, later went to college to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, and while in Texas practiced carpentry building cabinets.  She was an avid gardener and absolutely loved roses. Kay enjoyed 1970’s music, especially the Eagles and Elton John.  Her love for freestyle dancing was evidenced, in part by awards she won through the years.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tom R. Tessmer; 3 children, Nick Tessmer (Stephanie), Amanda Morris, Cassie Tessmer; 3 sisters, Sabrina Howard, Sebea Goodman, Georgia Forchia, a half-sister, Carolin Bullock; a stepbrother, Joe McLees; 4 grandchildren, Drake, Flynn, Naomi, and Kimber.

A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday September 21, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum in Conway, SC followed by entombment there.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, September 20, 2021, at McMIllan-Small Funeral Home, 910-67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
