Kathie A. Prout

Kathie Skipper Prout, age 69, was a native of Myrtle Beach South Carolina.  She was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School. She is the daughter of the late James “J.B” Skipper and Reba McDowell Skipper.

She had the most beautiful singing voice and loved to sing, whether it was with her band in her younger days or to her family as the years went on.

She was one of the most loving and selfless people you could even know. She took care of everyone before herself and would do absolutely anything for those that she loved. She loved many and she loved with her entire heart and soul. She had a great sense of humor that kept us all laughing, having so much fun and making memories over the years. She was definitely one of a kind.

She is predeceased by her parents and her older brother Randy Skipper. She is survived by her loving husband Denis Prout of Myrtle Beach, her daughter Tiffany Whitmire and son in law Jeff and her amazing grandson who brightened her days, Isaac Whitmire. She is also survived by her sister Cindy Kapcsandi of Leland, NC, her brother Micheal Skipper (Kay) of Myrtle Beach, her brother Jerry Skipper (Sylvia) of Lexington, SC, her sister in law Diane Kilkeary (Dan) of Sterling, VA and her brother in law Richard Warner (Barbara) of Fl. She is loved and survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, God knew when he took you, he took the very best. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM,  September 9, 2023 (Saturday) at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.   The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
