It is with broken hearts that the family of Katherine Penn Maltese must share the news of her death on Sunday, February 7, 2021. A native of Athens, Georgia, Katherine, 40, was living with her husband, Stephen, and children, Gabriel, 6, Adeline, 3, and stepson Austin, 10, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Anyone who had the pleasure of encountering Katherine knew that her presence brought extreme joy, light, and boundless laughter into every room she entered and every life she touched. Her loss leaves a profound absence in all of our lives.

She is survived by her parents, Wright and Nanci Penn and Scott Pittman, her mother-in-law, Diana Jacobs, her three sisters, Christine Yori (John), Elizabeth Tingley (Brett), and Emma Penn, three nephews and one niece, and countless friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at a yet undetermined date at St. Gregory’s the Great Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia.
