Karen A. Crisafulli

Karen Crisafulli, 72, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Mahwah, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Manhattan on May 31, 1953, to the late Marie Alice and Stephen Lozowski. She is now reunited with her younger brother, Stephen.

Karen spent her childhood in New York before moving to Dumont, New Jersey, where she completed high school. She later settled in Mahwah, where she built a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, teaching, and community. A devoted Physical Education and Health teacher, Karen was deeply loved by her students and colleagues. She cared for every child as if they were her own, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students.

Above all, Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her three daughters: Kasia Gray and her son, Michael Anthony; Alina Branda and her husband, Joseph, and their children, Joseph and Antonia; and Jessica Lintner and her husband, Lars, and their children, Jase and Grant.

Karen found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She cherished her faith, loved the beach and dancing, and was happiest when surrounded by her family. These were the moments that brought her the most peace and joy.

She will be forever missed as Mom, Ms. Cris, GiGi, Mama K, and Coach.
