Joseph “Joe” Richardson, Jr, 67, of Myrtle Beach, passed away on May 21, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on June 24, 1958, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Joe lived a life marked by humor, music, friendship, and a deep love for the people around him.
Joe grew up in Ashland, Kentucky, before becoming a long-time resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He retired from Cintas after more than 25 years of dedicated service.
Joe was a loyal fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. He loved cowboy and western movies, bluegrass and country music, and was especially proud of his talents as a singer and songwriter. More than anything, Joe was a people person, known for his sense of humor, his warmth, and his ability to make others feel welcome.
He is survived by his significant other, Linda Kiser; his daughter, Lauren Melvin and her husband, Jamie Melvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Richardson, Sr, Julia Blair Richardson, and brother, Ernest Richardson.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.
His memory will live on through the music he loved, the laughter he shared, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
