Obituary

 

Joseph Conrad McMahon, aged 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 22nd in his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Joe was born in Washington, DC in 1946 to the predeceased Joseph Stoll and Barbara Wilson.   Joe was the oldest of his three other siblings, Candace, Rikki and Randy and lived in various locations in the United States as well as Germany.

Joe had a military family life growing up moving from city to city with his siblings, and ended up traveling from Stuttgart, Germany to play college football in Kingsville, Texas.  He worked tirelessly for years in multiple jobs before finding his way into the finance world.   Joe worked for 25+ years in the automotive finance industry working his way up the corporate ladder before finally retiring as one of a handful of vice presidents under the Ford Motor Company.  Prior to retiring to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, he and Donna had roots laid down in multiple states of Virginia, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee and still maintained friendships in each area. 

Joe loved golf, riding his motorcycle and enjoying time with his immediate and large extended family and all of his Grandkids.  He was a loving Christian who instilled a phenomenal work ethic and faith in God towards to his sons.  He and Donna travelled extensively during his retirement years.

Surviving in addition to his devoted wife, Donna, are his three siblings; Candace Bowen (of VA), Rikki Schoomaker (of CO), and Randy McMahon (also of VA).   Joe also has three surviving children;  one daughter Dana Lutenbacher (TX), and his two sons, Jace (NC) and Jimmy (FL) McMahon as well as multiple Grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea at 11am on August 1st.  Address is: 1100 8th Avenue North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.   We will be having a celebration of Joe’s life at 12:30 pm, at The Surf Club, 1701 Springland Dr North Myrtle Beach, SC  29582. The family would love for all to attend if possible to remember Joe.
