Obituary
Joseph R. Griggs, III, 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 2, 2022, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, with family at his bedside. Born in Philadelphia, PA.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph R. Griggs Jr., Eleanor (nee Mullery), his devoted wife of 51 yrs. Kathryn (nee Miley)
He is survived by his loving family: son, Brian (Nancy); daughter, Eileen Pucci (Brian); grandchildren, Michael Pucci, Nicholas Pucci, Makayla Griggs, & Brianna Griggs; brothers, Thomas Griggs (Connie) and Robert Griggs.
Joe was a graduate of Triton High School in Runnemede, NJ. He retired as Senior Vice President of Operations, Wells Fargo Bank. He was co-owner of Candlelite Florist in Stratford, New Jersey. Joe loved gardening and spending time in the greenhouse. When he wasn’t at a grandchild’s sporting event, he could be found in his flowerbeds. He enjoyed the beach and the lighthouses of the Outer Banks.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday August 8th, 2022, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
