Born in Gloucester, MA on December 28, 1949 he lived there until graduating from high school and then joined the Navy and served as an aircraft mechanic aboard two Essex Class aircraft carriers: the USS Randolph and the USS Bon Homme Richard. After his honorable discharge he used the GI bill to obtain his BA in aeronautical engineering from Parks College in Illinois. He began his Federal Service at the Patuxent Naval Air Station in Maryland and remained with the Department of Defense until his retirement in December, 2004. He obtained his first Masters Degree from American University and his second Masters Degree from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
Unable to retire fully, he first explored golf club fitting and making and then in 2006 became a full time residential realtor. His clients were his friends as well as business associates. He also taught Italian for travelers through the OLLI program at CCU.
He loved golfing and traveling with his wife, Verna. Together they visited 110 countries, all 7 continents and 48 of the 50 states.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Verna, an older brother, Anthony, a half-sister, Marion Cahoon and 3 half brothers, Peter, Joseph and David Frontiero.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 2 pm at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Friends of Fisher House, Charleston in his name, or to a charity of your choice.
