Myrtle Beach, SC - James Alvin Brooks, loving husband, father, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2025, at the age of 53.
Jim was born in 1971 in Florissant, Missouri, the youngest of three children to Jack E. Brooks and Julie Rose (Papp) Brooks. After his family relocated to Tennessee, Jim graduated from Germantown High School in 1990 then earned his BS in electrical engineering from the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis. In 2004, Jim married Suzie (Phillips) Brooks, sharing 20 happy years with their greatest joy together being their daughters, Abbey Elise Brooks and Zoe Lauren Brooks.
Jim will be remembered as kind, good natured, hard working, and most generous. He was foremost a man of strong faith and an active member of The Living Water Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by: his sister, Jennifer (Brooks) Thornton and her husband, Phillip, of Collierville, TN; his brother, Jeff Brooks and his wife, Elena, of Austin, TX; and his niece and three nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, April 21, at 10:00 am at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, 910 67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 am.
