Our beloved James L. Haynes, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was fully vaccinated and yet succumbed to a breakthrough case of covid 19.

He was born to the late John R. and Martha Haynes on June 5, 1945. He was preceded in death by his sister Reecelyn Watkins and his brother David Haynes. He is survived by his twin sister Janie Koonce of Lawrence, Kansas, nieces and nephews, his loving wife of 34 years Jacqui Sauerwein Haynes, their son Robert Dirr III, daughter-in-law Stacy Dirr, his adored grandson, Pepper Dirr and beloved pet Ron Jon.

Jim joined the Airforce after high school with his best friend Art Miller on the buddy system in 1963. He proudly served his country on assignment overseas with military intelligence. After the Air Force, he attended, and graduated Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. He then moved to Denver, Colorado where he met his wife Jacqui and they began their life of 44 years together.

Jim, Jacqui, and son Robert, traveled the country with their career in Engineering. Eventually settling down in Greenville, SC. After a long and rewarding career, they retired to Myrtle Beach, to begin a new chapter in their lives. Jim enjoyed his time with extended family, and friends who came to visit to share good times, good food, and cocktail hour at the beach. Jim enjoyed traveling the world. His adventures included cross country travel on their Gold Wing. Jim maintained several lifelong friends, and always enjoyed making new and rewarding friendships.
