James Fred Hutton, Jr.

James Fred Hutton, Jr., 86, of Myrtle Beach, SC, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2021 in Murrells Inlet, SC.  Born in Scott County, KY, he was the son of the late James Fred Hutton, Sr. and Esther Leola Hutton.  He was predeceased by his stepmother, Mary Margaret; his sister, Edna; his brother-in-law, Willard Colie; and his step-granddaughter, Christina Dunsmore.

Married to his loving wife Carrie, of 36 years, they co-managed a family motel in Myrtle Beach until his retirement in 1994.  Following his retirement, he also worked part-time at “Mr. Fireworks” in Myrtle Beach.

Jim was a Vietnam veteran, and retired from the United States Air Force with over 20 years of distinguished service for his country.  He was a member of the Sergeants Association, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a communicant of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn “Carrie” Hutton; sisters, Mary Colie and Alma Parker; daughter, Linda Sue Kelly; sons James F. Hutton, III (Ginger) and Darrell G. Hutton; daughter-in-law Debbie Hutton; stepdaughters who he loved dearly, Kelly Hanson (Richard), Kristie Timmons (Larry), and Wendy Hammond (Clarence); 10 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, 910-67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572, on January 11th from 1pm-3pm.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 503 37th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 on January 12th at 11:00 AM.
