James T Cleary, Jr., 84 of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025. Born in Charleston, SC, on February 21, 1941. Son of James T Cleary, Sr., and Catherine Renken Cleary.
He was a graduate of Bishop England High School (Class of 1959) and attended the University of South Carolina. He was married to Claudia Jowit McCollough on December 28, 1962.
He was an avid follower of the University of South Carolina sports and could finish the New York Times crossword puzzle faster than you could say “CARAMBA”. He was a gifted storyteller, a true historian and brought a smile to everyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by Claudia McCollough, his daughters, Renken Cleary Carlin (Kevin), Rebecca Cleary Carlin (Scott) and son James Thaddeus Cleary. Grandchildren, Ella, Noah, Cullen, Ryan, Finn, Duke and Macsen. His siblings, Cathy Cleary Baker (Randy), Johnny Cleary (Jennifer), Lisa Cleary Disher (Tommy) and predeceased by his sister Sally Cleary McIntosh. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at McMillian-Small Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, at 10:00am with services immediately following in the Chapel at 11:00am. A Celebration of Life will be announced following the service.
