James Edward Brunson

James E. Brunson 93 died on February 24,2025.  

Born July 10, 1931, in Sumter South Carolina, to Josiah A & Ella Sessions Brunson. He was educated in city & county schools. He graduated from Edmunds High in 1949 and attended North Greenville College 1952 & 1953. Mr. Brunson moved to Myrtle Beach in 1959 and was the owner & mgr. of Brunson Kitchen Specialists. He was a Charter Member of Ocean View Baptist Church where he sang in choir, served as deacon and other committees. Worked part-time in 1998 until 2014 with Burroughs Chapin Golf.  Mr. Brunson retired again in 2014 and worked at home in the yard and vegetable garden.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Joseph Anderson; his first wife, Doris; a son, Eddie Jr. and great grandson, Samson; a sister, Susan Emma Tisdale.

He is survived by his wife Peggy White May; daughter, Beth Howell (Richard); granddaughters, Megan, Emily, Allison and Erin; 6 great grandchildren; two stepsons, Randy and Scott May.

Interment will be at Sumter National Cemetery at a Later Date.

Service will be on March 2,2025 at 2:00 P.M. at First Methodist Church.

The Family will receive Friends Immediately following the Service in the Parlor.
