James Bart Aimone, 80, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and a life well lived.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Bart and Leah Aimone, Jim carried his roots with him throughout a life that spanned continents and communities. A graduate of Thiel College and a proud Vietnam veteran who left the service as a sergeant, he embodied both discipline and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Jim shared 14 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rebecca Aimone, who survives him, along with his loyal cat, Annie. He is also survived by his siblings, Tony Aimone, Nancy Stevens, and Mary Lynn Gage; his sons, Bart and Cole; and his daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Kyla Aimone. His joy was multiplied in his role as grandfather to Annabelle, LJ, and Daniel.
A man of wide-ranging interests and boundless enthusiasm, Jim traveled the world and embraced every place he called home, including Pittsburgh, Rome, Chicago, Minneapolis, Fairfax, and Hickory. Wherever he went, he made lasting friendships. He had a passion for wine and cooking, a love of golf, and a gift for bringing people together. Known as the life of the party, he was often the first to greet you and the last to say goodbye—a reflection of his generous spirit and genuine love for others.
Jim will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his devotion to family, and the countless moments of joy he created for those around him.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held.
