Irene Rogers Evans

Irene Rogers Evans, 94, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Arbor Landing in Pawleys Island, SC.

She was born January 18, 1930, in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Coit B. and Ruth Hoffmeyer Rogers.  Irene was predeceased by her husband, Ray Evans.

Irene and Ray moved to Myrtle Beach in 1955.  They were charter members of Ocean View Baptist Church. She worked in several retail shops over the years working until she was 89. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved making cookies and desserts.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Evans Bauer and Pam Evans Gore and her husband Buddy, three grandchildren, Leslie Diane Bauer and husband Tim Lord, Lauri Anne Westmoreland and husband Jamey and Buddy Gore III and wife Bambi, great-grandchildren, Chase Evans Westmoreland, Ruby Raye Westmoreland and Banks Gore, and brother, William T. Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach with Chaplain Billy Miles officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM.  A private burial will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington, SC.
