Henry Kieltyka Obituary

Henry “Hank” Paul Kieltyka, 83, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, January 16, 2024

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, his parents, John and Sophie, and his brother Ted.

He is survived by his sons Chris, Tim (Bridget), John (Monika) and Paul (Maggie), and granddaughters Megan and Lauren.

Born in Yonkers, NY and raised in South Plainfield, NJ, Henry married the love of his life, Martha, in 1962; together they raised a family in Martha’s hometown of Westfield, NJ, where they lived for over 30 years, alongside an impressive series of beloved, spoiled cats.

Henry received a BS degree, with honors, from Rutgers University, and worked in the chemicals industry his entire career, during which time he was involved in the development of several novel technologies, including liquid crystals, the material found in mood rings. His sons fondly remember, as children, watching the colors change as they pressed their hands against whole sheets of the stuff, brought home for their amusement.

Upon retirement, Henry and Martha moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where they could enjoy warmer weather, days on the beach, and Henry’s favorite pastime, golfing.
