Helen Marie Winters

Helen Marie Winters, wife of Robert “Bo” Cochran died on the evening of April 30, 2022 from an acute aortic dissection while en route by helicopter to McLeod Hospital in Florence.

In life she was well known as the owner and operator of Todd’s Concrete and Landscaping, a business she inherited from her grandfather, Gary Todd, and later became a successful realtor for BRG Realty. Those who knew her well knew her to be kind, loving, compassionate, adventurous, and endlessly selfless. As a military child she spent her childhood in many different places, but with close family ties to the area, always considered Myrtle Beach to be her home and moved back at the earliest opportunity. Her favorite pastimes included fishing with her family, skiing, and helping those in need.

She is survived by her parents, Linda Kay Todd Winters and Charles Pete Winters; her husband, Robert Cochran; her children, Danny Winters, Kaylan Welborn, Todd Winters, Grace Cochran, and Scarlett Clemons; her grandchildren, Archer Roberts, Evelyn Rose Winters, and Violet Harper; her nephews, Charlie Winters; her aunts, Mary Frances Todd, Cheryl Todd, Jeanette Winters, Ardie Arnis, Marilyn Schurin; her uncle, David Todd; her cousins, Tate Todd and David Taylor and their families; and her beloved German Shepherd, Sully.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, Forney Gary Todd and Doretha “Doll” Todd; her brother, Charlie Winters; her uncle, James "Tiny" Taylor; her aunts, Margaret Stack and Wyn Clausen; her cousin, Kevin Todd; and two children lost to miscarriage.

Her passion and vigor for life lent credence to the phrase: "the brightest stars burn the quickest but are the most beautiful," and that is certainly how she will be remembered. She will be deeply missed by her family and by the many people she touched in this community and beyond.

A funeral service will be held at McMillan-Small Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2022.  Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery in Myrtle Beach.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
