Gertrude Russell Mullinix

Gertrude Russell Mullinix, 85, of Long Bay Estates, Myrtle Beach passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.

Mrs. Mullinix was born April 30, 1935 in Randolph County, NC to William Penn Russell and Edith Surratt Russell.

She and her husband were co-owners of Cash Grocery for over 40 years.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Ted Mullinix; son, Mike Mullinix of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Teresa Mullinix Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Chad Mullinix of Myrtle Beach, SC, Melinda Knowles of Conway, SC, Ginger Holland (Ben) of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Knowles of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Katie Lunn (Shaun) of Atlanta, GA; five great-grandchildren, Grayson Mullinix, Izzy Mullinix, Eleanor Holland, Camden Dayton, and Rhyan Knowles; and two sisters, Peggy Lanier (Jimmy) and Sue Watkins.

A graveside service will be at Uwharrie United Methodist Church Cemetery in Troy, NC at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 with her grandson Chad Mullinix officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
