Gertrude E Barnes

Gertrude, who is also known by the name of Trudy, passed away on Monday, May 12th suddenly after a recent successful hip operation. She was surrounded by the loving care of her husband, Jan Barnes and her older sister Marie Peacock.

Trudy was a giving soul who championed those who were struggling due to various life circumstances. She was a founding member of Armed Services Assistance Program (ASAP) at her church, Trinity United Methodist. She shared her time, talents, and goods with family and friends.

She had a lifelong love of horses, and she was an avid coin collector.

She is survived by her husband Jan C Barnes, her sister Marie Peacock, her sisters in law Susie Brack and Carol Brack, her nieces Kristi Bolin, Jaime Peacock and Patricia Ann Brack, and her nephew Jacob Brack III, and four grand nieces and four grand nephews.

Her memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach on Saturday May 17th at 11am.
