Gerald (Gerry) Weldon Bradshaw, 97, of Myrtle Beach SC passed away March 30 2025. Gerry was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Weldon & Opal Bradshaw. He married his bride Betty in 1952 and they made their home in North Canton Ohio where they raised their son Doug Bradshaw Sr.
Gerry was in the Army and was stationed in Korea for a period of time. After the Army he attended and graduated from Kent State University and went to work for BF Goodrich for 43 years.
Gerry was always an athlete. He played football and baseball in high school, then started the tennis team at his high school, and played tennis in college. He continued playing tennis into his 80s and golf until he was 95. He passed on the tennis & golf bug to his son Doug and spent countless hours on the court and course with Doug. He would gladly drive 3 hours to watch his grandson Doug Jr play baseball or soccer. He also spent many Saturdays in a gym to watch his grand daughter Lauren compete in gymnastics.
Gerry was very active in his church Maryland Baptist and First Friends Church of North canton. Volunteered his time on many committees of his church, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and would brew coffee and bring it to church for many years.
He was so grateful to God for all things in his life. He was a kind giving person who did so much for so many people, quietly. He and his wife loved to open their home host many gatherings of friends and family from BBQs to holidays.
Gerry is survived by son Doug Sr (Jill) Bradshaw, Grandson Doug Jr (Laura) Bradshaw, Granddaughter Lauren (Ben) Cantwell and Great Grandchildren Ava Bradshaw, Elton Cantwell and Rhodes Cantwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St Jude or Your church in his name. Gerry will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty, of 72 years at Southern Palm Memorial Garden.
