Georgia Caroline McKee, 91, entered into God’s heavenly kingdom peacefully on May 19th at her home surrounded by her family.
Caroline was born in Louisville Ky. on May 9th 1934. She was the daughter of Dr. Grover and Glady Corley formally of Lexington S.C.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life husband John L. McKee.
She was a graduate of the University of Louisville and the Medical College of Virginia class of 1956 where she received her BS degree in dietetics and started her career in Nutrition.
Her career spanned for more than 40 years working at both Georgetown Hospital and Conway Hospital. She did Consulting work for NCH, Myrtle Beach Beach Manor, Conway Nursing Home, Covenant Towers and the VA Clinic.
Food was the topic of her teaching and learning. Always gathering and sharing new recipes and healthy ways to prepare a meal.
She served on the board of Mobile Meals for 30 years and served on the board of The American Heart Association. She was past president of the Coastal Concert Association.
She enjoyed gardening and decided to become a Master Garden where she took her knowledge of gardening and volunteered at the Local Farmers Markets serving as a volunteer for the Clemson Extension Service.
She was a devoted member of Trinity Church where she attended regularly for more than 50 years. Her service to God was faithful. She was a member of the Choir, served on the Vestry and was the first female Chalice bearer and layreader at Trinity. She loved the Lord and her church family.
She leaves behind a Son, John “Jack” McKee, Wendy. A daughter Julia Lorenz, Tom. Her granddaughters, Laura and Jessica McKee. Nieces and Nephews and many cousins.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach.
