Gardiner Marek, Sr.

Gardiner Marek, Sr., 91, of Myrtle Beach and Atlantic Highlands, NJ, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021.

He was born in his parent’s home in Atlantic Highlands, was a graduate of Atlantic Highlands High School, & Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. Gardiner was a US Navy Veteran, earning the rank of Lieutenant. He later owned Gardiner Marek Insurance Agency in Atlantic Highlands for 30 years. He officiated high school football for 30 years and was well known for always wearing his black high-top shoes. In retirement, Gardiner enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. He was quite active and Past President of the Atlantic Highlands Lions Club.

Survivors include his son, Gardiner Marek, Jr. and his wife Janet, granddaughters, Tracy Johnson  and her husband, William Johnson & Victoria Ocean Brady and her husband, Matthew Thomas Brady, 6 great-grandchildren, William Hunter Johnson, Laken Victoria Johnson, Brody Johnson, Jackson Thomas Brady, Zechariah Marek Brady, & Hannah Sky Brady;  He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, & daughter, Lynn Marek.

A Memorial Service will be held later at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home in Atlantic Highlands.
