It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred Channing Haas, who left us on June 29, 2025 at the age of 89. He passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late James T. And Mabel H. Haas. He was predeceased by one son, Bruce C. Haas and three brothers, James T. Haas, Jr., Gary C. Haas and Danny K. Haas. He lived a life marked by his generosity to people of all walks of life.
He will be remembered for his love of family and his strict belief in southern manners.
Freddie spent over 50 years in real estate sales development and was known for his strong work ethic and his talent for building relationships with all of his customers. He was dedicated to his daily jogs on the beach and his love of fishing for flounder and shrimp at his lake home on Yonges Island, SC.
Above all, Freddie was devoted to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Pamela Moushey Haas, his children, Robert (Bobby) Haas (Julia) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Christopher Rand (Jackie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, his grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. A private family celebration will be held at a future date.
