Frank X. Froncek, 82
Frank X. Froncek, 82, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died unexpectedly at home on September 22, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1944, in Olyphant, Pennsylvania.
Frank was a proud graduate of Scranton Prep and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton and his law degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. His career took him through several chapters. He began as a reporter for the Scranton Tribune, then served as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney's office, and later worked as a corporate attorney for Nortel. After retiring from Nortel, he was appointed a municipal judge in North Myrtle Beach, where he continued to serve his community.
Frank had a sharp mind and a wide range of interests. He was an avid reader and a devoted golfer, and he never tired of telling the story of his four holes-in-one. He also loved a good game of blackjack, especially when the table paid 3-to-2.
He is survived by his wife, Anita, and his sons, Michael and Jeffrey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Salvation Army.
