Emily Miller

Myrtle Beach, SC Emily Miller, 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Brightwater in Myrtle Beach. Born December 8, 1930 in Winston-Salem, NC, she was the only daughter of the late J.D. and Ruth Messer. Emily was predeceased by her husbands David L. Robertson and Ray Miller. She lived in Myrtle Beach for the last 42 years. She had many careers in her lifetime, from Executive Secretary for an Engineering Firm to being a realtor and restaurant owner in Myrtle Beach. An extrovert from her early childhood and never meeting a stranger, she had a big personality and infectious laugh that always got noticed. She loved to travel and meet new people, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and ballroom dancing. Emily is survived by her son, David L. Robertson, Jr. of Surfside Beach; daughter, Lisa R. (Harold) Cushman of Myrtle Beach; and four grandchildren, Alex & Max Robertson and Kara & Harold Cushman, IV. She was also predeceased by her daughter in law, Lori Robertson. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Brightwater. Due to COVID, a private family graveside service will be held.
