Elizabeth "Lib" Iseman Obituary

Elizabeth “Lib” Rhett Iseman passed away on November 5, 2021.  She was surrounded by her loving family and rests peacefully now in heaven.  Lib was born in Columbia, SC to the late Eleanor VanBenthysen and Charles Beauregard Roman.  She was married to James Marx Iseman (deceased March 28, 2015) and would have celebrated 73 years of marriage in August.  She is survived by her children, James M. Iseman, Jr. (Dianne), Anne Iseman Broadway (late Benjamin Broadway), and John E. Iseman (Susan) all of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Janet Rhett Iseman Trull (Jeff) of Greensboro, NC, James M. Iseman, III of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert B. Broadway (Holly) of Kernersville, NC, Jonathan Rhett Iseman of Charleston, SC, and Madison Elizabeth Iseman of Studio City, CA; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Cordelia Trull and Heath and Conley Broadway; and her brother, Rhett Roman (Patricia) of Pawleys Island, SC.

Lib and Jim first reared their family in Cheraw, SC, then in Rockingham, NC where they were faithful members of First United Methodist Church.  Once retired, they moved to Myrtle Beach to be closer to family.  They were active members of First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach for many years.  Being faithful Christian servants, most of their activities were centered around church and family.

The family expresses deepest gratitude to Firstlight Home Care, Linda Jones Nurse Care, Embrace Hospice, and all who loved and cared for her.  She was a special, loving, and giving person who will be deeply missed by her family.  The family will hold a private service in honor of her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach or a charity of your choice.

And, in her loving spirit, do something good and unexpected for someone in your life.  That’s what she always did!
