Elbert Ronald Eldridge, 85, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home.
He was born September 18, 1940, in Conway, SC, the son of the late Elbert Howard and Lizzette Vereen Eldridge.
He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Rosalyn and Bill Clontz and nephew Kevin Clontz.
Ronald joined the Navy Reserves in 1957 while in high school and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1958. Following graduation, he entered the Navy and went on active duty. Ronald was co-owner of Automotive Paint and Supply in Myrtle Beach from 1972 until 1997. He was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Bonnie Porter Eldridge; two daughters, Rhonda E. Todd and husband William Todd and Robin E. Politis and her fiance, Richard Hulings; grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony and Meggie Politis, and Jackson Todd. Also, by three nieces, Danna C. McKnight, Christy Bell, Neva Campbell and former son-in-law, Gus Politis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2026, at First Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach with Rev. Joel McMakin officiating.
Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
