Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the news of the passing of Edward ”Ed” William Grabousky at the age of 71. His final day was on February 21, 2025 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina after a 5 year battle with cancer.

He was born October 22, 1953 to Harriet Jane (Truskloaski) and Edward Roy Grabousky.

Love was very kind to Edward. He had a very rare and generous bond to his wife, Brenda Lee (Batzel) Grabousky, that seemed to last forever, as they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 3, 2024.

Ed graduated from North Pocono High School in Moscow, PA in 1972 and went on to serve in the United Stated Air Force. Prior to his retirement, Edward worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) for 37 years and while employed at TYAD, he was deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.

Ed’s greatest joys came from having and spending time with his loving family and friends. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He had his pilots license, was an assistant boy scout master, loved camping and the outdoors, was an avid hunter, spent many summers at the cottage in Lake Bonaparte, New York, he was a licensed ham radio operator, loved walking the beach and searching for sharks teeth in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased in death by his brother, Thomas F. Grabousky.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee (Batzel) Grabousky; children, Adam Edward Grabousky and his wife, Tanya; Amanda Lee (Grabousky) Sabecky and her husband, Peter; grandchildren, Emma Mae Grabousky, Macee Lee Scheitlin and Lexah Lee Scheitlin; step-grandchild, Brandi Michelle Ballinger;  sister, Harriet (Grabousky) Hanna and her husband, Arthur and his sister-in-law Annette D’Oro Grabousky;  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Celebration of Ed’s life will be celebrated privately by the family in both South Carolina and Pennsylvania.
