Edgar “Carl” Hudson, Jr., 82, died Friday, May 07, 2021. Born July 30, 1938 in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Edgar Carl Hudson and Estelle (Black) Hudson. He was predeceased by brothers Bobby Hudson and Tommy Hudson.
Prior to retiring Carl was a Nationally Awarded Snap-On Tool dealer and was also a salesperson for heavy duty truck parts. Following his retirement he was fondly known as “The Storkman” in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) area.
He was also a historian and an avid Sprint Car Racing fan. Carl was a member of Murrells Inlet Masonic Lodge #368 and was raised as a mason by his son Russell. He was past president of the Myrtle Beach Shrine Club and past director of the Omar Vettes.
Surviving is his wife of sixty years, Kay (Salzman) Hudson; a son, Russell Hudson and wife Jennifer; four grandchildren, Jack, Bella, Alex, and Scott Hudson; Brother Danny Hudson and wife Cathy; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hudson; three nephews, a niece and many beloved cousins.
A masonic service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 15 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home 910-67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. The family will greet friends following the service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Charlotte, NC, at a later date.
