Dung V. Dinh, 50, of Myrtle Beach passed away in his sleep at home on January 9, 2023. Dung, fondly known as Joe to his American friends, was born in Vietnam on September 17, 1973. Joe completed his education in Vietnam, and moved to the United States to begin a new life with his Uncle, Quan, in Florida.
Joe's favorite pastime was cooking, and he was excited about his first job in America as a cook for Applebee’s in Florida. Joe’s fondest memories in America were after he met his loving wife, Le Nguyen, and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Joe and Le became successful owners of Le Nail Salon in Myrtle Beach, which allowed them to happily raise their children following their “American Dreams” offered in their new homeland.
Joe’s greatest pride and joy was being a father to his two children, Dillon (17) and Dana (11). Joe loved spending time on the beach with his children and playing volleyball. Prior to Joe’s illness, people often saw Joe being the “full time chauffeur” for his two busy children and their active lives. Joe and Le were a strong couple when it came to parenting, who proudly worked together to raise their two beautiful children to be kind, loving and successful.
Dung (Joe) is survived by his wife, Le Nguyen, son Dillon Dinh, daughter Dana Dinh, and in- laws Thomas and Deborah Packer.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
