Douglas “Doug” Frank Colacicco, 43, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died December 3, 2022 as a result of an enlarged heart.
He was born June 28, 1979 in Annapolis, the son of Daniel and Barbara Colacicco. He attended South River High School, then Coastal Carolina University to study business, where he met the love of his life, Betsy.
Doug's proudest accomplishments were his family and his business. Doug and Betsy settled in Myrtle Beach, married September 4, 2004, and have 2 children, Dominic (16) and Katie (14). Family has always come first for Doug. His children were the center of his life. He made their lunches everyday and could be found on their soccer sidelines. He had a way of being close with every single family member and checked in with his siblings daily. He was the “fun uncle” that all the kids were drawn to because of his adventurous heart.
Doug started a successful general contracting company at age 23, and took the utmost pride in his custom projects. Doug had a lifelong passion for fishing. He was regularly participating in offshore fishing tournaments, and often winning.
Doug is survived by his wife Betsy and children Dominic and Katie. He is also survived by his parents Barbara and Daniel, his siblings Liz (Jason), Carolyn (Alex), Jackie (John), Marc (Olga), and his beloved 12 nieces and nephews.
