Dorothy R (Stowe) Lotz

Dorothy R. Lotz, 71, wife of the late Jerry A. Lotz, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Dorothy was born on May 31, 1951, in Millville, NJ, to the late Walter Stowe, Jr. and Ruth (nee) Gifford Stowe. She was a lifelong resident of Millville, NJ until her move to the Carolinas in 2014 where she ultimately landed in Myrtle Beach, SC in 2018. Dorothy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She also loved the beach, Elvis, the Beatles, and her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, sewing, football season and just having a good time.

Surviving are her three daughters, Kimberly (John) Priestley, Tracey (Fred) Schalek, and Robin (Christopher) Benfield; six grandchildren, John (Tonilyn) Priestley, Jr. Amanda Priestley, Nicholas Schalek, Colby Schalek, Abigail Benfield and Emily Benfield; one great grandchild, Taylor James Priestley; brothers, Walter (Susan) Stowe, III and Michael (Bea) Stowe; sister, Terry (Gary) Eagle; sister-in-law, Sheila (Jerry) Shapiro; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Christina Smith, Kay and Rich Romanik, and the “Group”. She also leaves behind her newly adopted fur babies, Izzy and Cinny.

Dorothy was preceded by her parents, Walter Stowe Jr., and Ruth (nee) Gifford Stowe; and her husband of 51 years, Jerry A. Lotz.
