Donnie Todd Obituary

Donnie Elton Todd, 81, of Myrtle Beach died peacefully Monday, August 2, 2021.  He was the son of Donnie O. Todd and Martha Hill Todd of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is survived by his loving wife Sara Green Todd, his sons Donnie Elton Todd, II (Sarah), Mike Altman (Mary) and David Altman.  His daughters, Donna Todd Dellinger (Jay), Melanie Todd Thompson (Andy), ten grandchildren, Kent Altman (Lindsey), Dalton Dellinger (Lauren), Madeleine Dellinger Stoneman (Grayson), Clay Altman (Kirby), Donnie Todd III, Andrew Thompson, Ellison Todd, Robert Todd, Graham Thompson, and Riley Thompson.  Two great grandchildren, Andersen Altman, and Mary Hendrick Altman and a sister Gloria Todd.  He was predeceased by a brother Herman Todd.

Donnie graduated from the University of South Carolina and served three years in the US Navy.  He was a former Myrtle Beach police officer, and retired from the Department of Defense as a Special Agent with the Defense Investigative Service. After his retirement he served as the Area Manager for Woodman of the World Life Insurance Company. 

Donnie was a very caring person and loved his family dearly.  He was known for his humor, his compassion, and for his love of the game of golf.  He was a faithful member of the First United Method Church of Myrtle Beach, the Brittain Sunday School Class, and a life member and past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge # 353.

A private family service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Thursday, August 5th.  The service will be live streamed beginning at 10:55 AM on the www.FUMCMB.org and clicking on facebook live,  Myrtle Beach First United Methodist Church | Facebook.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1367, Myrtle Beach, SC  29578.
