Donald Lee Kalber, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and respected leader in the time share industry, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Myrtle Beach at the age of 81.
Born on October 2, 1944, in Denver, Don lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, hard work, and love for his family. A proud Vietnam veteran, Don honorably served his country in the United States Navy, carrying the values of discipline and service throughout his life.
Don shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Maria Kalber. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a proud and loving father to Sherri, Karen, Michelle, Chad, and Marissa, and a cherished grandfather to Sydney, Meriah , Lance, Lucas, and a great grand father to Blake. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in every moment spent with them.
Known throughout Las Vegas as a legend in the time share industry, Don earned the admiration and respect of countless colleagues and friends through his passion, integrity, and extensive knowledge of the industry. He mentored many and left a lasting mark on those fortunate enough to know and work alongside him.
Outside of work, Don loved sports—especially football—and could often be found enjoying a game with family. He also adored his loyal dog, Cooper, who brought him great companionship and joy.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, the best dad, a proud grandfather, and a man whose strength and kindness touched many lives.
As Don often believed, “Family is not just an important thing—it is everything. The love we share with family becomes the legacy we leave behind.”
In honor of Don’s lifelong respect for those who served, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
Don’s legacy of love, wisdom, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
