Donald Francis Clark, age 93, passed away peacefully Friday, June 24, 2022 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late William Clark and the late Mary Caton Clark. He served 4 years in the Air Force and fought in the Korean War.
Don was larger than life and loved to share his stories. He graduated from Wingate College and was the youngest of the Clark brothers: Jake, Murray and Marion who all predeceased him.
Don and his late wife, Pat were married 49 years and he loved his family. He built a motel named the Donna Fran after his two lovely daughters, Fran and Donna plus ran Mamma Jim’s restaurant. Don loved his knife collection and he had thousands of them. Don and Pat were a regular fixture at the local gun and knife shows.
Don was a devoted Shriner for over 50 years. He loved his Beachcomber Shrine family of brothers. He was past president of the Shrine Club and past president of the Chamber of Commerce . He was a Shriner ambassador aid to the Potentate. Don was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his two daughters: Fran Clark of Myrtle Beach and Donna (Clark) Shevchik (Todd) and of Lexington, SC . Don loved his three grandkids, Joey, Jenna, and Noah Shevchik. Nephew Jack Clark lives in Charlotte, NC.
The viewing will be 9:45 a.m., Friday, July 1 service begins at 11a.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home on 67th Ave. in Myrtle Beach . Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery in Myrtle Beach.
