Roger Dion Jewell, 60, passed away Thursday March 18, 2021, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was the son of Donald and Avanell Jewell of Greenville, and Easley, South Carolina.
Dion was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada on Harmon Air Force Base in 1960, moved to Scott Air Force Base in Bellville, Illinois in 1962 and finally transferred to the Northern Virginia area in 1968, where his father was stationed at the Pentagon for the remainder of his Air Force Career. Dion graduated in 1978 as a proud Titan from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, and attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 1994 after several years working in rental car management positions at both Reagan National and Dulles International airports. Dion enjoyed bicycling, playing guitar, living at the beach, endlessly listening to music and anything and everything having to do with Bruce Lee.
Predeceased by his parents in Myrtle Beach in 2006 and 2017, Dion is survived by two brothers, a nephew and a niece.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 25, at 10:00 AM at Graceland Cemetery West, 4814 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611, Pastor Broadus Moody officiating.
