Dianne LeMaster Obituary

Our precious mother, wife, best friend, Dianne Chalk LeMaster, 77, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at home surrounded by family.   She loved to be called “Nana” by her grandchildren, husband, and other beloved children and adults.

She was born in Union, South Carolina, on August 23, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Clarence T. and Mary Ann Dill Chalk. She grew up in Monarch (Union County, SC) and a graduated in 1964 from Union High School.

She is survived by her beloved husband, LeRoy LeMaster—she was his Sunshine.  Also, survived by her three daughters: LeighAnn LeMaster Yoxtheimer (William Greggory Poston), Amy LeMaster (Timothy Edwin Boozer, Jr.), Amanda LeMaster (Tyler Lee) Anthony; by her six grandchildren: Jennifer Boozer (Kendall Scott) Lathrop, Jessica Boozer (Corey Todd) Bedenbaugh, Mattie Rose Boozer, Emily Kathryn Yoxtheimer, Austin Tyler Anthony, Ava Langley Anthony; by her two great-grandchildren: Jackson Scott Lathrop and Carter James Lathrop; by her brother, Clarence “Rodney” (Jackie Stevenson) Chalk of Greer, SC, and a sister, Mary Kent Chalk (Tommy Lee) Jones of Prosperity, SC.

Through the years, she and her husband raised their girls in Newberry, SC, where she worked for Damon International and Clemson University Cooperative Extension, Soil Conservation for Newberry County.  In 1989, she supported her husband by moving to Myrtle Beach, SC, as her husband became President of Lewis Truck Lines in Conway, SC, and later he purchased Lewis Truck Lines in 2005.  She owned LeMaster Leasing, LLC and LeMaster Site Work, LLC in Conway, SC.

If you knew her, you were loved… She was kind, sweet, understanding and always put others first.  She never met a stranger and always made everyone feel welcomed.  She would tell every grandchild—they were her favorite!  She enjoyed her Bible Circle at First Presbyterian Church as she was the youngest member!  She also enjoyed working in her yard as she had two green thumbs; spending time with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; fearless—sitting in the front row on roller coasters; reading Johanna Lindsey books; working crossword puzzles (the hard ones in the newspaper); shag dancing, listening to gospel music from Gaither Vocal Band, and waiting for her main-man to come home.

Special thanks to Dr. Dean Smith and staff in Myrtle Beach, SC, her care giver, Rosemary Gardner, and Agape Hospice, Horry County—especially Tim, Emily, Alice, Belle and Ashley.
