Diane Lee (Stevic) Freede

Diane Freede (Stevic) passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 6, 2025. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. Diane fought courageously during her 9 year battle with cancer. Her loving husband Arnold “Skip” Freede never left her side throughout it all. 

Diane will be remembered most for her tenacity both before and after her cancer diagnosis. She was one that would always get her way and thus earned her the name, Honey Badger. Diane grew up in Ashtabula, OH and surrounding areas. She often talked about all her amazing childhood memories with family and friends. The empathy she had for others carried over into her career as a home healthcare nurse where she brought comfort to all that she assisted. After her diagnosis, it was her Dragonfly Warriors that brought her sincere comfort. While she is gone far too soon, she lived a life filled with love and laughter and for that, she will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband Arnold “Skip” Freede, Her loving children Jennifer (Trevor) Blosser, Stephanie (Doug) Bohardt, Nicole (Kyle Williamson) Freede, Heather (Buddy) Nemchek, Karla (Dan) Seery, Ryan (Brittany) Freede. Her cherished grandchildren Xzavier, Lennox, Nixon Blosser; Chloe, Amelia, Tyler Bohardt; Caleb, Landon, Rylee, Talon Nemchek; Ada and Dante Seery; Luke and Logan Freede. Her deeply loving and unbelievably patient mother Joann Stevic. Her favorite sisters Lori (Jay) Stevic-Rust and Leanne (Jim) Edmonds. She was deeply loved by her seven nieces and nephews and her three greats along with numerous family and friends.

Preceded in death by her doting and loving father Bill Stevic, her grandparents, and her fluffy companion Bailey.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, from 4-6 pm at McMillan Small Funeral Home 910 67th Ave, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.

Prayer service will be held immediately following the visitation at 6:00 pm.

There will be a celebration of life in Ohio mid- March—details to follow.
