Denise (Sekercak) Zmroczek

Denise Zmroczek, 64 of the Cresswind neighborhood of Market Common, Myrtle Beach passed away in Myrtle Beach, Sunday November 21, 2021. Born January 27, 1957, in Reading, PA, she was a daughter of the late Albert S. and Martha (Lukesh) Sekercak. Denise was also preceded in death by her sister, Karen Sekercak.

Denise grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania, and lived in Wichita, KS, Savannah, GA, Springfield, PA, and came to Myrtle Beach, SC in 2019. She had been a teacher’s Aide and managed a school computer lab prior to returning to college and becoming a teacher. She worked as a substitute teacher for many years in Springfield, PA. Denise loved her dogs, especially Lily.

She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafting, including counted cross stitch and quilting among others.

Survivors include her high school sweetheart, husband Leon A. Zmroczek; daughter, Lindsey A. Zmroczek; brother, Dennis Sekercak; grandson, Rhys Zmroczek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Visitation, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, 910 67th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach 29572 will be Friday, November 26th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
