Daniel Sheldon James

Daniel Sheldon James (Dan) of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on January 15, 2025, at age 70. He was born on August 15, 1954, and was proceeded in death by father Dudley, mother Arlene, and brother Dennis. Dan lived, worked, and raised his family in Mankato, MN. He later moved east, but continued to maintain and cherish his lifelong friendships in Mankato.

Dan was a patient father, a loving grandfather, a caring husband, and a devoted dog dad.  He was a man of simple joys, with a passion for the outdoors, travel, and a love for cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, as well as a competitive spirit when it came to playing cards and games. But above all, he was known for his kindness and willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and his warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dan is survived by his wife Karen, with whom he shared 38 years of love and laughter. He is also survived by his two sons, Tony James and Trevor (Connie) James, and his grandsons, Emmett and Graeme. In addition, he is survived by his uncle and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A private service will be held to celebrate Dan's life and legacy. His family is grateful for the love and support they have received during this difficult time.
