Charles Dustin Woolard, lovingly referred to as Dusty, age 76, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home.
Dusty was born on August 6, 1949, in Greencastle, Indiana, a son of the late Charles Junior and Frances (Query) Woolard. He grew up in Vincennes, Indiana where he was a standout athlete in baseball and football. Dusty graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from January 1969 to August 1970. Upon returning from Vietnam, Dusty graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Accounting where he earned his CPA license. On August 26, 1984, he married Margo Mann and they began their life together. Dusty worked at GTE in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 26 years and finished his career as a Senior Auditor. In 1999, he retired and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he and Margo enjoyed retirement to the fullest. He was an avid reader and loved playing golf with his friends. Dusty had an unwavering love and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dusty is survived by his wife of 41 years, Margo (Mann) Woolard from Myrtle Beach; his son, Jason Woolard and his wife, Angie; his daughters, Janet Brelsfoard and her husband, Craig, and Jadean Neireiter and her husband, Alan, all from Fort Wayne, IN; one sister, Sandra Truex and her husband, Steve from Lafayette, IN; 7 grandchildren, Olivia Leitch and her husband, Gavin, Destiny Walker, Alyssa Woolard, Emma Latta and her husband, Bailey, Daphney Walker, Owen Woolard, and Sabrina Woolard; and 4 great-grandchildren, Charlie Latta, Edward Leitch, Marceline Latta and Maxwell Leitch.
At the family’s request, there will be no service at this time. McMillan-Small Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dusty Woolard.
