Carolyn Lois McKittrick (née McCauley), passed away on the evening of October 4th, in the presence of her loving family. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Carolyn’s life was marked by devotion to family, joyful service, and a faith lived in community.
Anyone who met Carolyn knew how deeply she loved her family. She spoke of them often and was in their corner—supporting them at every turn of life. She was endlessly proud of her daughter, Caroline, and cherished her granddaughters, Charlotte and Lillian.
A devoted member of her church, Carolyn found purpose in the community she loved and cherished—both in worship and in Sunday School. She arranged flowers, directed countless weddings, and served as an usher every Sunday. Organized and loving, she brought steady leadership to ensure the best outcome for every couple, service, and gathering.
Culinary craft was Carolyn’s life’s work. Baking and catering were not hobbies but a calling—an expression of care, excellence, and celebration. For those fortunate enough to be loved by her, her artistry showed up in thoughtfully baked goods and beautifully finished cakes.
Carolyn met and married the love of her life, Warren, in Easley, where they raised their daughter, Caroline. Their family later made homes in Greenville and then Myrtle Beach, carrying with them friendships and church families that shaped their lives.
She loved to walk—unhurried and grateful—and she cherished traveling to Ireland, her favorite place in the world. In her honor, the family will travel to Ireland in 2026, a journey Carolyn longed to make one more time.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Warren; her daughter, Caroline; her granddaughters, Charlotte and Lillian; and her sisters, Becky Enlow and Mary Ruth Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, RF and Lois McCauley.
A service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, reflecting a cause close to Carolyn’s heart.
