On Friday , January 7, 2023, Carolyn (Carole) Edna Hanson, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 77.
Carole was born on October 1, 1945 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Beatrice and Hildreth Prevatte. Carole spent her childhood and school-age years in Fayetteville, NC.
Carole worked as a secretary for multiple medical facilities. Her genuine caring ways endeared her to her patients as well as her coworkers. Once Carole retired she poured that same love and care into her family.
Carole loved music and gardening. Each Spring, you would find the Hanson home alive with beautiful vibrant flowers and foliage. She took great pride in her family home.
Carole's love touched the lives and hearts of everyone she encountered. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
Carole was preceded in death by her father, Hildreth Prevatte, her mother, Winnie Beatrice Sessoms, and her brother Leonard Prevatte.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Bruce Hanson and her brother Lanyon Prevatte (Linda).
Carole and Ken have 5 children: Richard Glenn Hanson (Kelly), Kenneth Hanson (Teresa), Mark Anthony Hanson, Debra Jean Melton (Ben) and Eva Marie Hanson.
Grandchildren: Ricky Bullard Jr., Richard Hanson II, David Miller (Lindsey), Thor Hanson(Kendra), Alexandria Ott, Amber Hanson, Lars Hanson (Jennifer), Amanda Miller, Gabrielle Wiggins (Jason), Hannah Melton and Victoria Hester (Matthew).
Great Grandchildren: Hailee Bullard, Tayler Bullard, Brenden Bullard, Alaina Brown, Eli Thompkins, Jason Hanson, Carter Inman, Gracien Hester, Willow Ott, Braiden Hester, Cason Hanson, Rayna Hanson and Kennedy Miller.
A memorial service will be held in North Carolina. Date and time to be announced.
