Carol Ann Piotrowski (Buckholz), 83, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, met her Savior peacefully at her home on July 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Piotrowski and the daughter of the late Gerard and Alice Buckholz.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. A private funeral service will be held for the family.
If you knew Carol, you knew that her greatest pride was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful and devoted wife whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. Her Catholic faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and quiet strength she shared with others. She loved making homemade cards for family and friends, and there was almost always a puzzle spread across the dining room table. Her warm spirit and contagious smile touched everyone she met, and her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew James Piotrowski.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas Piotrowski; two sons, Ed Piotrowski (Cindy) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Mike Piotrowski (Sandi) of Greer, South Carolina; a daughter, Terry Whitehead (Chris) of Greensboro, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Michael Piotrowski II (Mattie), Christopher Piotrowski (Erin), Megan Whitehead, William Whitehead, and Jacob Piotrowski; three great-grandchildren, Koen Piotrowski, Michael Piotrowski III, and Violet Piotrowski; two sisters-in-law, Pat Winn (Dennis) and Ruth Piotrowski-Schwartz (Nelson); and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerard Buckholz (Betty) and Thomas Buckholz; and a sister, Marilyn Belluscio (Vincent).
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Carol’s memory by making a donation in her name to the Horry County Chapter of Meals on Wheels.
