Official Obituary of

Carol Ann Donald

July 8, 1943 ~ December 11, 2025 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Obituary

Carol Ann Donald (née Staycer), 82, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at 9:26 a.m.

Born to John and Mary Staycer, who preceded her in death, Carol Ann had a lifelong love of numbers and meaningful patterns. Her initials, C.A.D., convert to 3.1.4., which became her favorite number and also happens to be her granddaughter’s birthday—a coincidence she treasured. Fittingly, her children were born on the dates—12/11, 9/2, 9/6, and 9/26—and Carol Ann herself passed on 12/11 at 9:26 a.m., a moment that is unmistakably and beautifully her.

Carol Ann lived in Inwood, Long Island, for 20 years, made her home in Lynbrook, New York for 30 years, and most recently to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she resided for the past for 12 years.

She was the devoted partner of Paul Riginio for 33 years. Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and spirited bickering—often compared to an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond—bringing endless amusement to those around them.

She was a proud and loving mother to Wendy (Bartholomew) Venza, Cathy (John) Vosatka, Stacy (Jeffrey) Geise, and John (ToniAnn) Donald. Carol Ann was a cherished grandmother to Nick Gossett, Andrew Guli, Bart Venza, Amy (Jack) Tabb, Danielle (Andrew) Huthwaite, Sabrina Geise, Jennifer Gossett, Giana Donald, and Steven Geise, and a delighted great-grandmother to Quinn Huthwaite and Emelia Vosatka.

She is also survived by her sisters, Dianne Broglie and Christine Cittadino, along with many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became family.

Carol Ann started working at a bank, then the Herrick Stamp Company, and Shearson Lehman as a broker assistant. She loved telling family stories, shopping, reading, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with family and friends playing games—especially Rummikub, Scrabble and Wordle. One of her greatest joys was sitting in her sunroom with a cup of coffee, watching the birds she adored, particularly hummingbirds and cardinals.

She took great pride in decorating her home for every holiday. Carol Ann held her Catholic faith close—she loved Jesus and faithfully said her Hail Mary and Our Father prayers.

With a loving spirit and a strong sense of what she believed, Carol Ann was endlessly thoughtful and always seemed to have the perfect gift for every occasion—or no occasion at all. Her humor, generosity, and sharp wit will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on December 17, 2025, at McMillan Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
