Carol Walkup Barker

Carol passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 29, 1945 in Takoma Park, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Lemon Walkup and Norma George Walkup.

Carol is survived by her son, Richard Davis (Kristin); daughter, Rebecca Abernathy (Todd); brothers, Harvey and Daniel Walkup; grandchildren, Caroline Whiteside (Casey), Lydia Davis, Cooper and Jackson Abernathy; great-grandchild, Holden Senecal. 

Carol enjoyed cross stitching, listening to country music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Per Carol's wishes, there will not be a memorial service held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's honor to the South Carolina ALS Association, 130 Gardners Circle, PMB 622, Johns Island, South Carolina 29455.
