Carlos S. Ribera, 56, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Born in Bolivia to Estela Teran Ribera and the late Roger Ribera, Carlos carried a piece of his homeland’s warmth and spirit wherever he went. He found his way to Myrtle Beach, where he became not only a renowned chef but also a cherished part of the community. As the owner and chef of Sole' Italian Restaurant, Carlos poured his heart into every dish, turning meals into memories for all who dined there. His love for food was a reflection of his love for people.
Carlos is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-five years, Maria, who was the light and anchor of his life. Together, they created a beautiful family that became his greatest source of pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving mother, Estela Ribera; his children, Luis Ribera, Frankie Otero, Patricia D. Phillips, and Gloria M. Melendez, each of whom carries a piece of his heart and his legacy; his brother, Gustavo Ribera; and his sisters, Maria Zuozo and Susana Ribera. Carlos was also a proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren. His family was his treasure, and he leaves them with countless memories of his kindness, strength, and unwavering support.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Monday, November 11, 2024, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM to celebrate Carlos's life and share stories of the joy he brought to so many. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, also at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, with Dr. Rev. Ron Bradley officiating. Following the service, Carlos will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway, SC.
Carlos’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
